Psycho (1960) Stephen Klancher: February 9, 2008 It was weird to me to see the shower scene, a cultural reference used so extensively, fleshed out and finally see the whole story associated with it. 20. Vertigo (1958) Releases on 1969-12-31 27. Rear Window (1954) Stephen Klancher: October 20, 2007 I like Stewart, but I did not care much for this movie. Especially in comparison to other Hitchcock films I've seen: An ever increasing number as I go through the IMDB Top 250. 28. Dial M for Murder (1954) Releases on 1969-12-31 Stephen Klancher: January 21, 2010 Very cool movie. One of those movies where it's fun to watch everything fit together: Tony's plan, the places it goes wrong, his improvisations, Mark's proposed "fake" confession for him, and of course the key which was the fatal clue. 30. Strangers on a Train (1951) Stephen Klancher: April 5, 2009 Solid main characters made this a lot of fun to see. I kept seeing Bruno as Bill Murray and Guy as Alan Cumming. Bruno was a great clever-psycho bad guy. And that ending had to be the most dangerous merry-go-round in the world. 33. Rope (1948) Stephen Klancher: June 12, 2010 Fun little murder story. I enjoy Jimmy Stewart and movies filmed in near "real time". 35. Notorious (1946) Stephen Klancher: April 6, 2009 Ingrid reminds me of someone, looks familiar to someone, but I can't think of it. I wasn't too drawn in by this movie, but the characters had some moments of interesting emotion between them. 42. Shadow of a Doubt (1943) Stephen Klancher: April 10, 2010 I liked the little girl: "I'm trying to keep my mind free of things that don't matter... Because I have so much to keep on my mind... Innumerable things!" And the conversations between the father and friend, who liked reading murder mysteries, about how they would kill each other. 49. The Lady Vanishes (1938) Stephen Klancher: September 28, 2009 I was uninterested at first, but as it went along it grabbed my attention more and was fun to watch. I'm endlessly amused with seeing British characters cool and proper under fire. |
